Position

The cemetery is located near the presbytery of the church of St. Katarzyny (Fosa Street). On the southern side there is Aniżkowa Street (on the plans there is Renety Street, which is closer to the escarpment). [source: Wikipedia, 1044015]

History

Located close to the church, at least as old as the parish, which was erected in 1238. In its area a casket from the era of Lusatian culture was found. It was partially destroyed during the November Uprising, renovated and reconstructed in 1839. Three chimney graves preserved from before this period. In 1850 the area of the cemetery was enlarged and the wall was surrounded with it. The area of the cemetery was enlarged again in 1876. On October 28, 1989, during the ceremony with Józef Glemp in the cemetery in a copper urn made by Andrzej Renes, land was collected from the places of execution and burial of victims of communist terror, that is, from the grounds of both the Służewiec cemeteries, embankments of the Warsaw, Sufi Dominican monastery, race track in Służewiec, Powązki and nearby street 11 November.
