Dębica Communal Cemetery in Elbląg - a cemetery located in Elbląg on Łęczycka street in the eastern part of the city from the north borders with the forest park Bażantarnia. At the beginning of the 1970s, the city authorities faced the problem of the exhaustion of burial places on the Agrykola Communal Cemetery operating since 1946. First of all, there were no places for social burial, and it was impossible to enlarge the existing cemetery. The area located between the southern border of the Bażantarnia forest park and Łęczycka street, in the vicinity of the Dębica housing estate, from which it took its name, was chosen for the area of the new necropolis. Since then, the cemetery has been expanding its area many times, two pre-funeral buildings were built on its site. Since 2000, the cemetery has been gradually expanded, new apartments are being prepared for graves. In July 2006, a new form of hiding the deceased was launched - the first two segments of the columbarium, intended for placing urns with ashes of cremated people, were put into use. Until now 30,000 people have been buried in the Dębica Communal Cemetery. Among the graves in the cemetery lie, among others * Aleksandra Gabrysiak; * Marian Niklewski; * Stanisław Wójcicki.
